Scottish Teachers Association of RME (STARME)
Our aims are as follows
- provide for the exchange of views on all topics related to RME, RERC, and associated subjects;
- to identify teachers’ developmental needs and endeavour to support them;
- act in a consultative and innovative capacity on all matters relating to the curriculum area and associated subjects;
- disseminate information on matters relating to RME, RERC, and associated subjects to schools and local authorities;
- make representations to national bodies;
- and pursue any other activities which further any of the above aims.
Associated Subjects
Due to the range of subjects taught within the RME and RERC curriculum areas we include support for the following:
- Religious and Moral Education;
- Religious Education in Roman Catholic schools;
- Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies;
- Philosophy.
Please Note: The purposes of the Association relate to the teaching of subject areas associated with RME/RERC as noted above, and not to Religious Observance (Time for Reflection).
