Come Join the STARME Management Committee

Are you passionate about the future of our subject areas? We are looking for enthusiastic colleagues to join the management committee!

We are a highly supportive team who are always ready to help each other out. All of our meetings are held online, meaning you can join us from anywhere across the country.

If you are looking to get more involved, we currently have openings for the following roles:

Primary Lead

• Be a connection between Primary colleagues and STARME.
• Highlight resources specifically for Primary RME.
• Liaise with the CLPL lead for teach meets and speed meets with CLPL colleagues.
• Attend and report to management committee meetings, the Festival of Learning, and other relevant partner meetings.
• Lead a small working group focused on Primary RME.

RERC Lead

• Be a connection between RERC colleagues and STARME.
• Highlight resources specifically for RERC.
• Liaise with the CLPL lead for teach meets and speed meets with CLPL colleagues.
• Attend and report to management committee meetings, the Festival of Learning, and other relevant partner meetings.
• Lead a small working group focused on RERC.

Finance Support

• Support the treasurer with administrative work related to the charity’s finances, including issuing invoices.
• Help ensure compliance with OSCR regulations.
• Liaise with the treasurer surrounding end-of-year reporting.

Promotion of Subject Lead

• Create and gather resources highlighting the relevance and importance of RMPS.
• Establish strong links with further education, employers, and partners.
• Engage with stakeholders to raise the profile and understanding of RMPS as a distinct subject alongside its humanities counterparts.

Philosophy Lead

• Be a connection between Philosophy colleagues and STARME.
• Highlight resources tailored for Philosophy.
• Liaise with the CLPL lead for teach meets and speed meets with CLPL colleagues.
• Attend and report to management committee meetings, the Festival of Learning, and other relevant partner meetings.
• Lead a small working group focused on Philosophy.

Teach Meet Lead

• Organise and lead three virtual Teach Meet sessions (split into Secondary, Primary, and Early Career Teachers).
• Liaise with members about agendas to share good practice and engage in dialogue.
• Share updates and takeaways from Teach Meets with the wider membership.
