The Festival of Learning is our flagship annual event, bringing together educators, researchers, and resource providers from across the country to share best practice, pedagogical innovation, and subject expertise. Since our inaugural gathering at Queen Margaret University in 2024, the festival has rapidly expanded, moving to the University of Edinburgh New College in 2025, and filling the Renfield Centre in Glasgow in 2026.
A Hub of Expertise and Collaboration
Over the past three years, we have been privileged to host high-profile keynote addresses from influential figures across the sector, including the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, Jenny Gilruth; Ollie Bray from Education Scotland; and leading educational voices Joe Walker and Stephen Scholes.
Our diverse, practitioner-led programme spans the full spectrum of our discipline, delivering specialised presentations across primary and secondary education, RERC, philosophy, and academic research. Beyond the seminars, our highly popular “Making Connections” sessions actively bring teachers together to build lasting professional networks.
This extends to our marketplace, which has proudly hosted key educational and community partners such as Culham St Gabriel’s, the Scottish Bible Society Humanist Society Scotland,, Holocaust Education, Christian Aid, SCoJeC, the Scottish Association of Mosques, UHI, the SSTA, the Scottish Jewish Heritage Centre, Bright Red Publishing and the Centre of Teaching Excellence.
